“Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness, will we discover the infinite power of our light.” — Brene Brown

We are born vulnerable. Inevitably, we encounter trauma, grief, shame, and disillusionment. We struggle to ride the waves that life brings. I know personally how much courage it takes to call a therapist and ask for help. Some of us have carried our silent burdens for decades before reaching out for support.

Maybe you’re feeling very vulnerable, anxious, and unsure of what to do right now. Whatever brings you to therapy, I honor your courage and your goals. By partnering together, I can be your steadfast guide through the darkness, until your innate light shines through.

Perhaps you’re . . .

  • In crisis after learning about a betrayal or a loved one’s addiction

  • Struggling with sexual behaviors that are causing problems

  • Wanting to work through trauma

  • Looking for practical help from an intuitive, compassionate therapist

  • Needing help in your relationship and aren’t sure where to turn

Whatever your concerns, I am glad you are here. I look forward to partnering with you to help you get to where you want to go.

I take a practical approach to healing, knowing that our bodies are equipped in incredible ways to adapt and heal. Together we can build a “toolbox” of mindfulness-based resources that promote and support healing and wellness.

I was born with a therapist’s instincts and I have a wealth of life experience as a wife, mother of 6 (including a child with Autism), and fellow traveler on the path of healing.  I am intuitive, deeply empathic, and I have personally done the work that I ask you to do.

I can help you with:

  • Compulsive sexual behaviors

  • Betrayal trauma

  • Infidelity and affair recovery

  • Couples counseling

  • Trauma

Who I help:

I support adult individuals and couples in healing from betrayal, addiction, infidelity, and trauma. I specialize in working with sex addiction and betrayal trauma.  I believe that addiction is often a symptom of deeper trauma. In our work, we can explore “the root” of your trauma or addiction and process that together.

How I help:

At the heart of good therapy is really good conversation with a trusted therapist, which is why I prioritize helping you feel safe and understood. EMDR (Eye Movement Densensitization and Reprocessing, a trauma treatment) and “parts” work are some of the modalities we may use along the way. I like to incorporate various strategies to build emotional intelligence and resiliency.

Off the Clock:

When I am not at work, you can find me walking with friends, doing yoga, at the library finding science books for my little guy, or shopping and cooking with my teenagers. I love the ocean and hiking in nature.

My educational background:

  • Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh

Special training I’ve received:

  • EMDR trained

  • Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (in progress)
