“What matters in life is not what happens to you, but what you remember and how you remember it.” - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Throughout our lives there are many things that happen to us, many completely outside of our control. However, it is often the way in which we remember those things and internalize them that lead us toward fear, anxiety, depression, shame, guilt, and pain.
These feelings are normal and necessary for our growth, but when left unmanaged, wreak havoc on our lives. This influences the way we act and the relationships we establish with others.
Perhaps you’re…
Feeling paralyzed by fear
Trapped in harmful cycles and don’t know how to change your behavior
Feeling anxious, depressed, hopeless, or alone
Frustrated about finding a way forward and don’t know what to do
Ready to take charge and begin to change old patterns, but not sure where to start
You are not alone. Together, we can embark on a new journey of growth and healing that you may never have even thought was imaginable.
Who I am:
I am a bilingual, bicultural, first-generation, Mexican-American woman. I was born in Santa Barbara. However, I moved to Mexico shortly after my birth where I lived until I was five years old. At five, my family relocated to Santa Barbara where I have lived ever since. My experience as a first-generation Mexican woman has undoubtedly influenced my career path.
Beyond the individual challenges we face, I also understand how systems of oppression impact us individually and influence who we are. I am confident that I can help you make sense and meaning of your experiences and the way they help you be who you are meant to be.
I can help you with:
Trauma
Couples counseling
Porn and sex addiction
Substance use
Infidelity and affair recovery
My clients are:
I help adults, adolescents, families, and couples who are facing a wide array of diverse challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, compulsive sexual behaviors, relationship conflict, and problematic substance use.
How I help:
I approach everyone with compassion and validation believing that the first step is to make you feel safe, seen, and understood. I strive for an integrated mix of varying therapeutic modalities to make your treatment as tailored to your needs as possible.
